With every edition of this PGA National Club Championship, Kris Hart’s incredible vision earns even greater appreciation.
Club champions from across the country gathering at the end of the year at a marquee resort to enjoy great competition, warm camaraderie, and everything that you love about golf? This was the sort of thinking that led Hart – a Longmeadow (Mass.) native and former golf team member at Bryant College – to give birth to something called NextGenGolf.
Feeling that avid golfers at all levels craved more opportunities to play and compete, Hart many years ago joined with his NextGenGolf cohorts to organize national tournaments for collegiate club golf programs, for high school teams, and for winners of club championships.
Several years ago, the PGA of America bought NextGenGolf but wisely kept Hart on board to oversee these championships, the most recent of which was played at Troon North GC in Scottsdale, Ariz.
