Yvette O'Brien made yet another strong statement with her golf clubs at the Jim McLean Junior Championship in Florida. After winning the event by six shots in 2023, O'Brien outdid herself and lapped the field by eight shots this year.
While she's a native of Greenwich, Conn., O'Brien moved to Florida to attend Grandview Prep in order to play as much competitive golf as possible and receive instruction at Don Law Golf Academy. The hard work is paying off for the talented 17-year-old.
In the 36-hole event, O'Brien shot 70-69 for a 5-under par total. The TCU commit was the only player under par and carded 12 birdies over the two rounds at Broken Sound Golf Club.
The win marked her second victory in her last five events. She won the First Tee Miami Doral Junior Classic in December in a playoff over Canadian Grace Anderson.
