The cream of the crop in New England's class of 2024 is starting to get snapped up by college programs. In the last week, two new players joined Ryan Downes on the list of verbal commitments to Division 1 golf programs.
In October, the week he won the MIAA division 1 state title, Downes announced he would be attending Vanderbilt University. He'll join John Broderick on the Commodores, who are currently the top-ranked program in the country on Golfstat. For his impressive performances, Downes is the top-ranked junior boy in Massachusetts and 135th in the country according to Junior Golf Scoreboard.
Will Gregware (West Hartford, Conn.) and Max Jackson (Cumberland, RI) also have places to play their college golf starting in the fall of 2024.
