It is a circuitous route from Rhode Island to the Mayakoba Resort in Mexico, but that is very much in keeping with Brad Adamonis’ life in professional golf. If it’s possible for him to tee it up, he’s there.
It will be PGA Tour tournament No. 74 when Adamonis, 49, tees it up Thursday in the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba in Mexico. The bulk of those starts came in 2009-10 when he owned a PGA Tour card.
A golf lifer and a proud journeyman, Adamonis has been found on every mini tour in the U.S. and rarely does he miss a chance to do a Monday qualifier. Among his 205 Korn Ferry Tour tournaments, Adamonis won the 2007 WNB Golf Classic in Midland, Texas.
