There are quizzical whirlwind trips that make you shake your head.
Then there are those outlandish excursions that you don’t question, given the parties involved. Such as Joey Lenane going from his home in Dedham, Mass., down to Cape Cod, then up to Niagara Falls, N.Y. — and back — approximately a 1,200-mile trip in 72 hours.
Before we get to the specifics of the odyssey and the cohorts involved, there are voices who know Lenane well and consider that trip part of who he is.
“He’ll outwork anybody,” said Bill McInerney, who has helped coach Lenane — who will attend NC State next year — at KOHR Golf Center in Natick for the 10 years the young man has been playing the game.
