While hoodies, winter hats, and golf cart heaters were on the menu for some golfers, others found the weather a bit more comfortable during the final day of the Massachusetts Four-ball in baseball hats and quarter zips.
It was two guys in visors, Steve Tasho and Tommy Harrison, that took home the 2023 four-ball title at Hyannisport Club. Tying the scoring record with a 17-under par total.
Harrison and Tasho fired a 64 (-8) at Bayberry Hills on Tuesday to sit near the top of the leaderboard after the first round. As the duo stuck their tees in the ground for their 1:58 pm tee time at Hyannisport, two groups, just minutes before, finished their second rounds and grabbed the clubhouse lead at 13-under.
The day at Hyannisport was "calm" according to a lot of the locals who find themselves battling high winds that blow off Nantucket Sound throughout the golf season. It seemed as the afternoon wore on the 13-under par score might win. In 2022, the winning score was 14-under par.
