NORTON, Mass. — The Mass. Open was an event that many had circled on their calendars. The MassGolf staff were excited to host the region's best and brightest in their backyard, as the William F. Connell Golf House & Museum is a short par 4 from the 18th green at TPC Boston.
As David Pastore accepted his trophy and gave his speech, his voice broke, and the emotions of the moment crept in after clinching a two-shot victory for his first Mass. Open title with a score of 12-under par.
The pro golfer from Stamford, Conn., admitted his game hadn't been sharp coming into the week.
"To be honest, I haven't been playing all that well in the last weeks and months," Pastore said. "I'm proud of the way I played today."
