In Connecticut, the boys high school golf season is split between the fall and the spring.
In this fall season, Greenwich will defend its Division 1 title, which it won last year by a single shot over Farmington. The top five teams were separated by just seven shots in the state championship, so it could shape up to be a battle again for the title.
Greenwich lost one of the state’s best players in Charles Schrohe to graduation, but a few underclassmen were pivotal to last year’s victory.
Pomperaug’s Division 2 championship will be tough to defend, as the school lost its top two players, Daniel Casanta and Luke Brower. That duo finished tied for second in the individual state championship. The fourth-place finisher last year in the team event, Lewis Mills, returns its top players and will be worth watching over the course of the season.
Here are the players to watch this season.
