The Massachusetts Division 3 state championship tickets have been punched. The four regional sections will each send three teams to The Ledges Golf Club in South Hadley to compete over 18 holes for the individual and team MIAA titles on Tuesday.
Each team will send six players to the event. The top four scores will count toward their final aggregate score. Considering most high school matches are nine holes, this 18-hole tournament is a bit of a different animal.
Dover-Sherborn, the defending state champion, will have to battle some talented and experienced teams. Six of the top seven squads from the 2021 MIAA state finals will compete in this year's edition.
Sean Scanell of Dover-Sherborn, Zach Pelzar of Weston, and Jake Frohn of Hopedale should be in the hunt for individual state honors.
Here are the teams that will compete in the Division 3 golf finals.
