U.S. Open final qualifying is considered the longest day in golf. On Monday across nine venues in the United States and one in Canada, golfers will compete over 36 holes to reach the pinnacle of golf in the United States — claiming a spot in the U.S. Open. Each venue will give out a select number of spots depending on the size and quality of the field.
This year's U.S. Open will be hosted at Los Angeles Country Club from June 15-18.
Twenty-three players from four New England states will be part of this golf extravaganza. Some are amateurs, and some are professionals. The vast majority of these golfers had to earn their way through local qualifiers. Ben James and Michael Thorbjornsen earned exemptions because of his World Amateur Golf Ranking.
Let's meet some of the players who are hoping to survive golf's longest day and punch a ticket to LACC.
