It's always nice to have something to look forward to as a golfer. For New Englanders, the winter can be long and dark. The golf clubs might collect dust in the garage, only dusted off for a simulator round or a trip to warmer weather.
Some golfers from New England will have all winter to prepare for the U.S. Four Ball which will be held at Kiawah Island in South Carolina. The U.S. Four-Ball is a relatively new event; it was first held in 2015. It has offered a great outlet for different golfers to reach the heights of a USGA event, which is the pinnacle of golf in the United States.
The qualifiers from New England have a range of experience. There are state amateur champions, mid-am champions, and future Hall of Famers among the group. The meritocracy of golf is on full display during qualifying rounds, it's the beautiful part of these types of events.
Let's meet the players heading to Kiawah in May.
