While the golf season in New England may be too short, the quality of golfers is rather deep.
Veterans like Brad Faxon (Barrington, R.I.), who had eight wins on the PGA Tour, and Pat Bradley (Westford, Mass.), a Hall of Famer who won six women's majors, have given way to a generation of New England golfers who are finding success on the pro tours.
New England has a men's major winner in Keegan Bradley, some up-and-comers on the LPGA Tour in Megan Khang and Brittany Altomare, and other steady presences on the PGA Tour like Richy Werenski.
The path from the golf courses of New England to a pro tour is long, of course. When locals make it, however, they can offer fellow New Englanders someone to root for in the big events.
