Division 2 golf tends to fly under the radar in New England. There are nine teams from the region that compete in the fall and spring. The players are both international and come from every corner of the United States. In fact, some teams are made up of a lot of New Englanders.
In April, most of these programs will compete for one of five northeast spots available for a spot in the Division 2 national championship. Last year, four teams earned berths.
There is also a new program, as the University of New Haven relaunched its golf program after a 15-year hiatus.
Assumption University's team enters as the highest-ranked team in New England according to GolfStat's rankings with Southern New Hampshire University coming just behind them as they head into the spring.
