The Korn Ferry final stage is a crucible.
Davis Chatfield (Attleboro, Mass.) proved he belonged in the final stage with an incredible last two rounds in the second stage of qualifying, firing 65-66. He continued his exceptional play in the first three rounds of the final stage. Rounds of 71-67-70 put him in the top 15 with 18 holes remaining.
Unfortunately, the former Bishop Feehan standout slipped down the leaderboard on the last day after shooting a 2-over par 73.
Chatfield birdied the 14th hole to get him to 3-under par for the tournament. When he signed his card he sat in 39th place. All Chatfield could do was watch the scores roll in — a helpless feeling.
