As the early days of July melted away, Conner Willett was like a lot of 19-year-olds home for the summer.
He was enjoying time with his family. He was preparing to play in some of the region’s biggest amateur tournaments, including the 114th Massachusetts Amateur in mid-July.
Down the road, he was looking ahead to his sophomore year in college, hoping to improve his position on the golf team at Georgetown.
All it took was a week – a tragic, emotional, remarkable week – to change his perspective on golf and life.
