For the second time in his career (the first being 25 years ago), Jeff Page, the 65-year-old Babson men’s and women’s golf coach has qualified for a United States Golf Association championship, this time at the U.S. Senior Amateur at Camp Martis Club at Lake Tahoe in California from Aug. 26-31.
“I’m still absorbing this,” Page said. “I’m thrilled and really looking forward to the opportunity to compete again. It was great the first time and I’m sure it will be even better this time.”
Page, a 19-time club champion over six decades at Wellesley (Mass.) Country Club, grinded his way to the qualifying medal with an even-par 72 over an unusually long senior setup (6,720 yards) at picturesque but challenging Manchester CC in Vermont.
Now he's preparing for his big opportunity, as well as getting his teams ready for the start of the season in early September.
