One would have to say that Rhode Islander Will Dickson is bringing some serious summer heat to the golf course these days.
Just two weeks after having won the GP Pro Tour Championship, Dickson’s added some serious building blocks to his young professional career by posting a dominating win in the Waterloo (Iowa) Open.
In Waterloo, Dickson shot 65-63-61 for 27-under and a seven-stroke triumph good for $50,000. Coupled with what he had done to win the GP Pro Tour finale, Dickson is a whopping 50-under with a stroke average of 64.86 for these last seven rounds.
A four-time R.I. high school schoolboy champion and 2021 graduate of Georgia Tech, Dickson said it’s all about staying sharp for the PGA Tour qualifying tournament later this fall that will award Korn Ferry Tour cards for 2023.
And winning two tournaments in the span of three weeks qualifies as staying sharp.
