The Connecticut high school golf scene is different from its New England peers, with no all-encompassing season. Some schools play in the fall. Others play in the spring.
Historically, golf was a spring sport in the state, but the allure of nicer weather, better course conditions, and sharper competitors coming off the summer season had coaches hoping for a seasonal shift.
Not everyone agreed, and now some teams split their schedules.
This spring, another set of high school teams will vie for a crown across two divisions. After winning the 2022 Division 1 title in the spring, Fairfield Prep switched to the fall schedule. Rham High School won the Division 2 title.
