The Division 1 MIAA state championship spots have been booked. The four regional sections will each send three teams to Renaissance Golf Club in Haverhill, Mass., to compete over 18 holes for the individual and team titles on Tuesday.
Each team will send six players to the event. The top four scores will count towards their final aggregate score. Considering most high school matches are nine holes, an 18-tournament is a bit of a different animal.
Four of last year's top five finishers in the team competition return, all hungry to win a state championship. Most notably, last year's defending champ St. John's Prep did not qualify.
The talent is deep, and Ryan Keyes of Wellesley will have his work cut out for him to defend his individual Massachusetts state championship.
Let’s meet the teams who earned their way to Renaissance GC.
